Critical Self-Reflections
Purpose: An important component to being an effective social worker is developing skills at critical self-reflection. As a social work scholar and member of this classroom community, you are expected to read and be prepared to discuss the readings, as well as any other class material, and your thoughts on them in class. This assignment is designed to assist you in this process by providing you with the opportunity to critically engage in written or verbal self-reflections. 
Directions: You should submit a critical self-reflection based on the modules leading up to that week. Reflections can be written (2-3 pages). Your reflection should not summarize the readings/modules; rather, you should critically reflect on your reactions. Consider the following questions as a guide for your reflection. You do not need to answer EACH question for EVERY reflection. These are just meant to guide the critical reflection process.
Questions to consider:
What reactions did you have to the readings (intellectual, emotional, etc)?
(Push yourself to go beyond an intellectual understanding)
What challenged you in these readings? How did you manage these
challenges?
What critiques do you have for the readings?
What is unclear to you?
What do you hope to learn more about?
What are you struggling with?
What was exciting for you?
