The structure of this research paper assignment is to present myself as a Cloud Service Architect that has been hired for cloud migration. My objectives are as follows:
• Make recommendations on the type of cloud migration based on the organization and their needs
• Write a report that will go to the executive committee that will make the decision on whether to approve or deny my recommendation. • My report should be persuasive in nature and should “sell” my recommendation. • Convince these executives why they should migrate.
• Answer any of their concerns, requirements, risk, threats, backup, etc.
Part 1-Cloud Deployment Model & Cloud Provider
Follow the instructions below to complete this assignment:
Select one of the five scenarios (Scenario Selected Below) and provide a solution to solve the organization’s need for a cloud solution.
Select one of the three Cloud Deployment models (Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud).
Research and list at least three Cloud providers and select one that will support your deployment model.
Write a 1-page paper. It should address the following:
Why do you believe those cloud providers of your choice would be a good fit over other cloud provider?
Remember to use proper APA formatting, including citations and references for all resources used.
Part 1 Tips:
1. Required to be 1 page
2. Recommend including a graphic to depict service model/service provider relationship.
3. Pick a cloud deployment model: Public, Private or Hybrid.
4. Research the cloud deployment model you chose and provide details about it.
5. Research a Cloud vendor (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, VMWare, IBM, Google etc.)
a. Does this vendor support the cloud deployment model you chose in step 2?
b. Explain why you feel this vendor would be the best choice compared to the others.
6. Provide your references.
Part 2: Advantages and Disadvantages
In Part 2 of your Project, you will expand on what you learned in Part 1. Follow the instructions below to complete this assignment:
Write a 1-page paper to compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of your Cloud Service model with a similar On-Premises deployment.
Remember to use proper APA formatting, including citations and references for all resources used.
Part 2 Tips: 1. Required to be 1 page.
2. Graphics that depict your ideas are encouraged.
3. Research the advantages and disadvantages of the cloud deployment model you chose in Project Part 1 compared to an On-Premise environment.
a. An On-Premise environment is one that an organization controls. For an On-Premise environment, an organization has its own datacenter or private environment that they maintain.
b. When researching advantages and disadvantages, think about some of the questions below: When would an On-Premise environment be necessary?
What are the risks with an On-Premise environment in comparison to the cloud deployment model you chose in Project Part 1?
What are the costs associated with an On-Premise environment that are not associated with your cloud deployment model?
What are the risks with the cloud deployment model you chose in Project Part 1 in comparison to an On-Premise environment?
What advantages does your cloud deployment model provide in comparison to an On-Premise environment?
Part 3: Threats and Mitigation
In Part 3 of this Project, we will continue building on what we have done in Parts 1 and 2. Follow the instructions below to complete this assignment:
Write a 1-2-page paper that identifies five (5) potential threats and potential solutions to best mitigate loss.
Remember to use proper APA formatting, including citations and references for all resources used.
Part 3 Tips:
1. Required to be a minimum of 1 page but can be no more than 2 pages.
2. Consider adding graphics on one of the threats.
2. Research 5 potential threats and vulnerabilities for the Cloud in general.
a. Research the best way to mitigate the threats.
b. Discuss any tools that can be used to assist with mitigation.
c. Recommend any services/tools from your Cloud Service Provider that will help mitigate.
Part 4: Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery In Part 4 (1of 2), you will write one more paper that will be included in your final submission.
In a 1–2-page paper, describe how a cloud deployment would affect an organization’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan. Remember to use proper APA formatting, including citations and references to all resources used.
In Part4 (2 of 2). Combine all Project Parts (including the paper you wrote in Part 1 of this assignment) into a comprehensive final paper. Keep the following in mind:
1. Your final submission should incorporate feedback provided by your instructor (for Parts 1-3).
2. You should only have one cover page.
3. Your paper should contain a conclusion.
4. Your paper should be at least 5 pages (Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 combined), not including the cover or reference pages.
5. Your paper must use proper APA formatting, including citations and references for all resources used.
6. You should have one reference page that combines all the reference materials you used on each project part.
Part 4 Tips:

2. Consider adding a graphic that depicts BC/DR or any of the tools you are recommending.
3. Research Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for the Cloud in general. Think about some of the questions below:
a. What would happen if an organization lost access to their cloud environment?
b. How would a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan differ for the cloud differ for an On-Premise environment?
c. Are there advantages when it comes to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in a cloud environment?
d. Share/explain any services/tools from your Cloud Service Provider that would help enable your BCDR plans.
Consider implementing tool BCDR tools from your chosen CSP or consider implementing one of the BCDR tools discussed in the week 5 assignments. 3. After completing this section, combine Project Part 1 through Project Part 4 and submit for a final grade.
Selected Scenario: weSpy
weSpy, a small organization providing private investigator services, faces the challenge of
handling sensitive information. Having maintained two servers in their home office for years,
they recently encountered a leak in the adjacent room. Fortunately, it did not impact other
areas. Now, they are considering a move to the cloud to enhance data security and eliminate
hardware maintenance. The need is there, but they are unsure of how they will be able to
minimize the risk of exposure.

This week you will select one of the three Cloud Deployment models. Then, you will select a Cloud provider that will support your deployment model and write a 1-page paper describing why you believe that cloud provider would be a good fit over other cloud provider.
