Choose either the Career Goal Track or the Personal Goal Track.
Career Goal Track:
The outline and research paper should not be about why you are pursuing your major. They should be about what you want to become when you graduate. Example of the Topic: Becoming an Early Childhood Education Teacher
What career are you trying to pursue when you graduate and why? (This is the career goal track.)
Career Goal: When I graduate, I want to become an Early Childhood Education Teacher.
Research Question: Why is becoming an early childhood education teacher a beneficial path to follow?
In other words, why do you think becoming an early childhood education teacher is the right career to follow?
Respond to the question by listing four of the main reasons why you want to follow this career path.
Example of the response:
Becoming an early childhood education teacher is a beneficial path to follow since it provides the opportunity for better pay and benefits, flexible schedule, professional growth, and community involvement.
Personal Goal Track:
The outline and research paper should not be about why you are pursuing your major. They should be about what you want to become when you graduate. Example of the Topic: Seeking Advancement in my Work: Becoming an Early Childhood Education Head Teacher
Example: I am already an early childhood education teacher, and I am pursuing my Early Childhood Education major to become a headteacher either in the school I am working at or another school.
Research Question: Why is seeking promotion to become an early childhood education headteacher a beneficial path to follow?
In other words, since you are already a preschool teacher or early childhood education teacher and are seeking to a higher position, why do you think this is the right path to follow?
Respond to the question by listing four of the main reasons why you want to this promotion in your field of work. Example of the response:
Becoming an early childhood education headteacher, as a personal goal, is a beneficial path to follow since it allows me to have access to more job opportunities, to help other teachers, to work with families and their children, and to have a better work schedule.
