7 references means 2 articles and 5 artwork
Articles. Find and copy links to two (2) articles about your chosen artist. The articles must adhere to the following criteria to receive credit:
Must be a minimum of 800 words
The articles are about the artist’s life, artworks, and process.
The articles can be from SmartHistory.org, a magazine, a newspaper, a museum, or a gallery. 
They cannot be from an auction or encyclopedic site, such as Wikipedia, Artnet, Britannica, etc.
Please Note: You can only complete the rest of the Artist Portfolio once you choose links that follow the criteria. If you select a link that doesn’t follow the criteria, you will be asked to submit a new link by a specified date.
Artworks. Find and download five (5) artworks from your chosen artist. In the template, the following will be asked about each artwork:
Title of artwork
Year
Size (only relevant for photos, drawings, paintings, and sculptures)
Location (E.g., New York)
Photo courtesy of (E.g., Castelli Gallery)
Method (E.g., photograph, drawing, painting, installation, performance, etc.)
Materials (E.g., ink on paper, acrylic on canvas, steel, concrete, paper clip, ping pong ball, etc.)
