Recommendations: This section contains your recommended action and next steps. These recommendations need to be focused on improving or solving the situation with attention to the unique circumstances in the background.
In the following scenario, you are the IT director of a large health system, and senior management has asked you to form a team to address a health care quality data governance concern (e.g., health information privacy, data safety, etc.). For this quality data governance concern, you must include some factor that pertains to HIT as an intervention tool used to improve health outcomes in multicultural and diverse populations. Make this a piece of your situation so that it can be a piece of your recommendations. It does not have to stand alone, but it must be a component.
Part 1
For the first part of your assignment, you will develop an SBAR communication tool to inform your team of the issue and to develop some actionable items that you can move forward with to address the issue.
You may use the SBAR Template provided, or you are free to make one of your own. The SBAR must be complete with all information required to adequately communicate the situation, background, analysis, and action items moving forward.
Part 2
For Part 2 of your assignment, you will develop a case review that includes the event, the SBAR information, and the anticipated system change as a result of your recommendations and how these changes will ensure long-term success. This should be a PowerPoint® presentation of 5–7 slides, with audio narration as though you are communicating your findings to senior management.
