The journal you will be writing about is “Irish Economic and Social History Journal” and the decade is the 2000s (you should write on the articles published in that decade)

Final Essay MUST consist of five parts:
1. Introduction (introduction of the journal and decade selected; journal overview; rationale; problem/question/hypothesis; strategy used; a summary of main findings). 
2. Literature review and insight (MTE)
3. The form: To analyze the journal quantitatively, use the form you can find in the sis as your guideline . The form is considered an inspiration for you on how to start with
an analysis. You can add topics, periods, and methodological strategies based on your findings. at the same time, take into consideration that not all topics suggested in the
form will be addressed every year. Calculate how frequently each topic occurred in the journal of your selection during the decade of your choice. Use the form to write
down a number of articles focusing on the topic each year. Take into account all articles and all reviews. 
4. Analysis incl. quantitative analysis means: explanation of question; testing of hypothesis; comments on your findings (main tendencies
that appeared, the changes in the journal’s aim, changes in frequencies of individual topics, etc.); one subchapter per one aspect of the analysis; your evaluation/ judgment;
each subchapter must end with a short conclusion/summary. 
5. Conclusion (summary of all summaries in the analysis and your evaluations/judgments)  
■ Purpose of the MTE and FE assignment is not to become an expert in a particular topic
but to take a step back, think and critically interpret what others studied. You really need to make sure you focus on it as much as possible
from the perspective of economic history, not economics or even politics etc.
