For this activity, you have the option of conducting an interview of a family member of your choice. This activity will allow you the opportunity to identify a family member whom you would value learning more about.  You will develop a set of planned questions, conduct the interview, and write a reflection on what you were able to learn from that loved one and how it may shape your perceptions of that person.  Also consider how it may help contribute to your own personal growth.  
Assignment Instructions
Identify a family member you would like to interview in order to learn more about your family history and factors that may have influenced your growth and development.
Develop a list of approximately 10 to 12 questions
Consider developing questions that enhance your understanding of your family history, the history behind various cultures, values, or traditions, or questions that may help you better understand your family dynamics.  
Conduct the interview taking detailed notes of the responses.  Also, note your own personal responses during the process, both emotionally cognitively.
After conducting the interview, prepare a written reflection of your findings, and assessment as to how this experience relates to your own personal growth and well-being.  The reflection should be completed in Word, approximately 3 to 5 pages, Times New Roman, 12 Point Font, One Inch Margins.  The reflection is the main part of this assignment, so be sure to connect it back to lessons learned from the class.  In addition to reporting the details of the responses, also consider the following:
How did this information enhance your perspectives in ways that you can support your ongoing personal growth?
What personal growth strategies have you seen or would you recommend for Aunt Willieto your family member?
How might this experience have enhanced your cultural identity?
