at the local, state, and national levels, but curriculum leaders are most
effective in their own communities. They are often tasked with identifying
needs and implementing new initiatives, such as interventions, which can transform
instructional practices and make positive impacts on student achievement.
Identifying issues and delving into their root causes in order to create an
intervention plan allows stakeholders to work together to ensure that
curriculum and educational policies are aligned with the needs of the students.
The goal of this
intervention project is for you, as a curriculum leader, to apply your critical
thinking and problem-solving skills when it comes to analyzing, planning, and
making data-driven decisions that will foster instructional improvement and organizational
change to support instruction. You will also better understand how you can
achieve personal and professional growth through the simulated process of
creating and implementing an intervention. You will complete this intervention
project in three separate assignments throughout the course.
This assignment is Part 1 of your intervention project, and
the goal is for you to explore local issues, complete a root cause analysis to
determine the problem statement and root cause, and then determine the topic
for your intervention. You will continue the project in subsequent weeks as you
complete Parts 2 and 3.
As a school district curriculum leader, you have been tasked
by senior leadership to determine an intervention plan to address a set of
issues happening in your school district. You will identify local needs,
perform a root cause analysis to determine the problem and root cause, and
propose the topic for your intervention plan. Note: You may create and/or make all necessary
assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
