Protection of individuals from the government is spelled out in the Bill of Rights within the Constitution. Review the Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments), and choose one of the amendments you feel very positive about. You have likely seen that when it comes to legislation at the top of the federal government, a bill can become a law fairly quickly.
