Structure and Content of the Project Proposal:
I require that your project proposal in paragraph (essay) form and contain the following
content:
1. A draft of the Introduction section from your final report. Inside of your introduction
section, I want you to provide me a clear “vision” statement stating what you will be
accomplishing by completing this project.
2. A draft of the Related Work section from your final report.
NOTE: These first two sections are drafts and should be revised throughout the
course as you mature your understanding of the subject and project.
3. A section called Requirements in which you provide me the well written and thought
itemized list of the features of your final project (i.e. your deliverables!). This list
(when taken together) should convey what your project will be at the time you submit
it for evaluation. This section will become the design section of your final paper.
4. A section called Rationales where you provide rationales for the following two
questions.
a. Why would you (or anyone) want this project done?
b. What computing resources are you going to use to complete the project?
c. How are you suited to solve this problem? (viz. do you have the right
resources, training, skills, interests, time, etc.)
