It’s important for students to recognize and assess their communication skills

It’s important for students to recognize and assess their communication
skills and weaknesses at the onset of the course. Students will
therefore evaluate, in narrative (essay) form, by responding to the
following prompts (Gordon Rule assigned, APA/MLA format required). Scale
your general communication skills (1 being the most skilled, and 10
being the least skilled):
self expression
thinking before speaking
self-awareness
understanding strengths and weaknesses
ability to identify values
recognizing the impact of behavior on others
setting realistic goals
interpersonal skills
listening with an open mind
being a good “people reader,” and
expressing feelings appropriately.
Keeping the above list in mind and in narrative (essay) form in, at
least, 400 words, respond to the questions posted below:
What are your two or three strengths in the area of communication?
What are your two or three most significant weaknesses?
Now determine three goals (in the area of interpersonal
communication) you would like to set for yourself this semester. How
could you reach one of those goals?
