Case studies offer in-depth observations and analysis of events, processes, or people. They go beyond summaries and connect to broader issues and theories, and, when appropriate, offer suggestions for improvement for future cases. The first case study should focus on sport, technology, and the body. How might you apply the readings from these first modules to a headline or sporting moment? (They should be similar in specificity to the ones I offered from the first lecture – Fizdale and UT Football)
Your case study should be between 500-1000 words and should include:
the details of the case
why it matters
major issues involved in the case that extend to other athletes/sports/society
the case’s connection to identity and technology in sport
Your case study should build upon previous topics covered in this course and incorporate at least two (2) related readings from this class. You should also include at least three (3) additional sources. Make sure to cite your sources both in-text and in a bibliography following your case study in the citational style of your choice.

I will give you the freedom to choose whatever event you’d like for this assignment as long as it falls within the guidlines and you can provide an in-depth observation of said event and the connection between sport, bodies, and technology.
