Mit Stolz auf das Erreichte, sich den nicht geringen Anforderungen bei der weiteren Gestaltung der entwickelten sozialistischen Gesellschaft stellend, geht unser Volk guten Mutes in das fünfte Jahrzehnt der DDR. Der XII. Parteitag der SED wird im Mai 1990 über ihre kommenden Aufgaben beschließen, und ihre Lösung wird ohne Zweifel dazu dienen, den Sozialismus zu stärken, seine Attraktivität zu erhöhen und den Frieden zu festigen. Alles mit dem Volk, durch das Volk und für das Volk, alles zum Wohle und für das Glück der Menschen in unserer sozialistischen Deutschen Demokratischen Republik.

With pride in what has been achieved and stepping up to the not insignificant challenges regarding the further formation of advanced socialist society, our people head buoyantly into the fifth decade of the GDR. The XII Party Conference of the SED in May 1990 will decide what the coming challenges are, and our solutions will without doubt help to strengthen socialism, increase its appeal and cement peace. All of this with the people, through the people and for the people, all of this for the wellbeing and happiness of the people in our socialist German Democratic Republic.
